Hallelujah! What a Savior!

"Man of Sorrows" - it's this Sunday's Song of the Season.  The words are taken from Isaiah 53.  But the servant song we find in this passage of the bible is about more than pain and suffering.  It's about being raised and lifted up to glory.  The song "Man of Sorrows," is known equally well by its other title:  "Hallelujah! What a Savior!"  We remember both of those truths this Sunday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. at WilsonHub and 10 a.m. at the church on Garner Road.

Were you there?

It seems like an odd question - "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?"  That happened almost 2000 years ago, how could I be there?  In a very real way, we were at the cross with Jesus.  "He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross."

Our Lenten sermon series focus on one of the songs of the season each Sunday.  Join us this Sunday, March 19, 8:30 a.m. at WilsonHub or 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Beneath the Cross of Jesus

There are a lot of things we boast about, without even realizing that we are boasting.  The self-made man or woman takes pride in their accomplishments.  But there is only one place where we find true meaning, purpose, value, worth, and a future - and that is beneath the cross of Jesus.  May we proudly and willingly take our stand beneath that cross. Galatians 6:1-16. Sunday, March 12, 8:30 a.m. at WilsonHub and 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Songs of the Season

This Sunday marks the beginning of the season of Lent.  As we approach Good Friday and Easter, our sermon series will be looking at Songs of the Season.  This Sunday we hear God's word from Luke 9 where Jesus "resolutely sets out for Jerusalem."  God's salvation plan, wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice, is being executed.  March 5, 8:30 a.m. at WilsonHub, 10:00 at the church on Garner Road.
